The Dholera airport project is set to soon Active Airport in handling air traffic.

The Dholera International Airport is set to alleviate the heavy traffic from Ahmedabad Airport, which is nearing its saturation point.

Located 29 kilometers from Dholera and 80 kilometers from Ahmedabad, the Dholera Airport project will span 1700 acres and feature two large runways. The Airport Authority of India has approved the project, and the government has allocated the necessary land.

The region has been meticulously planned and is well-connected through various modes of transport, including rail, road, metro, and port. The Dholera Airport will significantly enhance connectivity and boost the investment potential of India's first smart city. This project invites global investors to invest in the city and reap substantial returns over time.

Development work has already begun in Dholera, with trunk infrastructure components being constructed over a 22.5 square kilometer activation area. The city is divided into six town planning schemes, with Town Planning Scheme 1 designated for residential housing. Dholera is expected to be completed by 2040 and will be developed in three phases. Dholera Airport Current Status 
As of 2024, the Dholera International Airport project is well underway, with several key milestones achieved. The construction of essential infrastructure such as runways, terminals, and ancillary facilities is progressing rapidly. The project is being executed with precision and adherence to stringent quality standards.

The completion date for the Dholera International Airport is projected to be in 2026, marking a significant advancement in India's aviation infrastructure. Upon completion, the airport will span over 4,000 hectares of land, making it one of the largest airports in the country.
